Update

Hi all, sorry for lack of posts recently. There are various reasons, some slightly experimental too, so here is a summary… I got ill yet again, driving me crazy and don’t think my body can take many more courses of antibiotics at this rate! That caused me to stop posting for a while, trading is just about manageable when unwell (some of the time anyway) but posting on the blog takes a bit more effort, screenshots and explanations etc, so i left that for a while. Wrist – turns out I was right and they were ignoring my valid concerns. Cartilage damage means surgery likely now, so i was told …

horse racing selections & today’s footie picks

I have been away for a few days again. While I was away I had a chat with a friend I haven’t seen for some time. I still get a lot of emails from people looking for horse racing selections. Either to back or to lay. Many people seem to think there is loads of easy cash to be made with ‘laying systems’. I am not going to say it’s not true that there are some very good laying systems out there (not really systems, just selection services/methodologies) but I will say there are very FEW of them. There seems to have been a move to laying as opposed to …

Happy New Year!

Well mine has started well, connection issues again. BT did a great job of installing my optical fibre connection, through a large tree and across through neighbours garden to the pole. The only problem seems to be, trees grow. Apparently this is quite normal. But optical fibre cables don’t grow at the same rate, so I now have a very stretched cable which doesn’t like strong winds, which we had last night. Its up and down, so I will have to get the plonkers out yet again. Also please note I am on travels for the next couple of weeks. I will be trading as and when I can but …

Horse Racing Tipping / Tipster Service

Further to my post back on 13th October, the tipping service which a few readers have asked about has just been launched. I am told this should be good, but I can’t guarantee it as I don’t know a lot more than any of you yet. I am certainly going to have a look myself though, most of these are junk but occasionally a good one comes along and the history behind the guy running this one appears to be one of the rare good ones, but again I can’t be sure myself so please don’t take this as a recommendation at least until I have seen the results. I …

Unimpressive winner

Just a quick post as a couple of people asked me why the odds didn’t move on that trade. As the stats suggested, lahti scored, and not far off their exact statistical average for 1st goal scored. Nice. But the price didn’t move! Well it did, but not much, and certainly nowhere near as much as 99% of games do after the home favourite scores. Normally the odds would have gone out to at least 7, probably more like 8. But on this game it only went to mid 5s at best, then crawled down. Why did this happen? Here’s why… This game had very low liquidity (traded volume). It …

Enjoying the sun…

Just a quick note to let y’all know I am alive, as always happens around this time of year the decent footie dies off and the sun comes out, so its either some nice racing trading or just a good time to tidy the house and garden! I only trade racing on wet days this time of year, it’s just too nice to be sat looking at Bet Angel ladders when a blue sky waits for me outside!! Tennis trading is a great thing to be doing this time of year, but I enjoy watching Wimbledon too much to spoil it by staring at flashing ladders! Shame, because there are …

** My ‘Lay The Draw’ eBook is finally published! **

As many of my readers know, I have been working on writing a detailed eBook to publish my entire method for analysing and implementing my football trades. This is something I have been asked to do by literally hundreds of people over the years but I just never found the time until now. The footie break this summer especially with the Euros, gave me a nice relaxed period to finally put pen to paper and document each and every step, every click, every glance I make when choosing my daily Betfair trades.

ebooksmallHaving been doing this for so many years, it took a lot of time and effort to actually document everything I do because so much of it is done on auto-pilot. But finally it’s done, and after asking a few people to have a look at it and give me their thoughts, the views are very positive so I hope this will provide many readers with an extremely useful insight into this simple strategy for trading full time on Betfair. Click here to read more.

I am repeatedly being asked to publish more of my Befair trading strategies but this takes time to document fully, I am working on it. I have recently updated my page about horse racing trading where I outline my preferred methods, if that’s more your thing.

Soccer…..

Well Lyon v Caen is a big tempter, but not big enough to tempt me. See the stats on their respective home and away form of late, to see how big a tempter it is!….. However it is not a trade for me, away team does defend well, and its 5 years since Lyon beat them, which can create a mental block for some teams. I am sure it would be a great trade, but I have to be as cautious as possible with LTD these days, so I am deciding against it. Eindhoven is another one I VERY nearly decided to trade, as its cheapish at 4.3. But the …

HT LTD

Well Brondby interests me now, not massively but enough for a small LTD. Its 0-0 at HT as I pretty much expected from the stats. The first half events dont suggest it was too busy, which is a slight concern, but looking at their stats its the second half when they seem to come alive, so lets hope thats  the case! …

Go Columbia!

Well I have never had such an enjoyable world cup football season! I am getting behind teams I have never even bothered to watch before, Algeria, Belgium, and now Colombia who are in my opinion the strongest team in the whole world cup competition. They are playing out of their skin and I can see them beating Brasil tonight! I ain’t betting, don’t get me wrong, there is a big difference between thinking, hoping, guessing etc, and TRADING. Trading is something I am on a sabbatical from as many of you have already guessed. I am very busy with a house move and loads of personal stuff at the moment …

Update

Well I could have waited for what is more than likely going to be a full stake win, but I need to make a pizza so I am going to cut and run. As expected, Madrid set the score back level and then went 2-1 up so I am taking an exit there. I did my alternative exit strategy of laying the home team instead of backing the draw, The result is shown below. If i was watching I would be cheering on Levante now! When home team odds drop this low, this kind of exit costs nothing but gives a tiny chance of a whopping win 🙂 …

WOW

Well the shortlist I have for trading today is probably the biggest I have ever seen in years of betfair football exchange trading. I am just doing stats, which could take a while and who knows I may still not end up with many trades as shortlists are only preliminary lists based on prices (so long as there is enough volume in the betting market to lay the draw). Will update soon …
